German EV charge point operator EZE has received backing from Arcus Infrastructure Partners to support its national growth. The investment, via Arcus’s €1.61bn fund, will help EZE expand its “park and charge” network across Germany. Existing shareholders remain on board.

France

France Accelerates Fast Charging

France now has 169,000 public EV chargers, up 27% in a year. A growing share of fast chargers is 100 kW or higher, expanding along highways and at retail hubs. Tesla and Powerdot lead the rollout, making high-speed charging more accessible nationwide.

TotalEnergies Leads France’s Fast Charging on Motorways

TotalEnergies operates over 1,800 high-power EV chargers across 265 motorway stations in France—23% of the national total. All sites offer up to 300 kW charging, powered by renewable energy, along with complimentary services such as free Wi-Fi, rest areas, and staff support. The company now operates 75,000 chargers across Europe, focusing on key transit routes and providing a seamless user experience.

Netherlands

Shell Debuts Dual-Use Megawatt Charger in Amsterdam

Shell has launched its first self-developed megawatt charger for electric trucks and vessels at its Amsterdam campus. Integrated into a smart grid, it enables flexible, high-speed charging—fully recharging vessels up to 5MWh in under two hours.

Austria

SMATRICS EnBW Adds 100+ Ultra-Fast Chargers in H1 2025

SMATRICS EnBW installed over 100 ultra-fast charging points in Austria and 12 in Italy in the first half of 2025, with most placed near highways and supermarkets. Around 80% of models offer 400 kW charging, enabling a 400 km range in 15 minutes. New features include real-time charging curve insights and voice guidance in four languages. The Austrian government’s €30 million funding and pending legislation are expected to accelerate infrastructure growth further.

Switzerland

Energie 360° Acquires MOVE, Expands Charging Network

Energie 360° has acquired MOVE Mobility, creating Switzerland’s largest EV charging group with 24,000+ points and 750 HPC stations. From August, MOVE users with select plans charge at GOFAST without per-minute fees; all roaming fees end in November.
