Circle K already has an established approach to energy management across its EV charging network.
As part of the continuous development of its technology stack, Circle K has partnered with FLEXECHARGE for a defined part of its existing Energy Management System functionality: load management.
FLEXECHARGE is delivering this functionality across 1,000 charge points in a headless setup. Instead of using the HARMON-E user interface, Circle K receives the relevant functionality and data directly into its own systems and dashboards.

The challenge: changing supplier without changing the overall EMS approach
For Circle K, this project is not about introducing a new way of managing charging sites.
Load management is already an established part of Circle K’s operations. The change is therefore not about introducing a new EMS approach, but about bringing in a new supplier for this specific functionality while keeping Circle K’s existing systems, dashboards and operational workflows in place.
That means the technology needs to do more than manage power reliably. It also has to integrate seamlessly into Circle K’s own digital environment, without adding another interface for its teams to operate.

The solution: HARMON-E - delivered headlessly
The solution distributes available site capacity between active charging sessions while respecting the configured site limit. As charging demand changes, available capacity can be dynamically reassigned between vehicles.
But the defining part of the deployment is how the solution is delivered.
Circle K does not use HARMON-E as an additional operational dashboard. Instead, FLEXECHARGE delivers the load-management functionality and relevant data headlessly into Circle K’s own systems through APIs.
This allows Circle K to retain its existing user experience and operational setup while changing the supplier behind a specific EMS function.
For FLEXECHARGE, this is also the first headless deployment of HARMON-E at this scale, creating a model that is particularly relevant for Enterprise CPOs with established internal platforms and dashboards.

For FLEXECHARGE, the project also marks an important product evolution. A headless version of HARMON-E makes it possible to serve large CPOs that already have mature internal platforms and want to integrate specialised energy-management functionality directly into their own technology stack.
