The Challenge

As ORLEN accelerated the rollout of its EV charging network, the companyneeded a faster and more standardized way to deploy charging infrastructureacross different locations and markets.

Each site involved multiple stakeholders including installers, chargepoint operators, utilities, and local grid operators, often working withdifferent technical requirements and approval processes. This createdunnecessary complexity during deployment and commissioning.

In addition, maintaining stable communication between chargers, remotesystems, and local infrastructure became increasingly important as the networkexpanded. ORLEN needed a solution that could simplify installation, reduceengineering effort, and create a repeatable setup that teams could deployconsistently across sites.

The challenge was clear: standardize EV charging deployments whilekeeping rollout speed, operational reliability, and scalability under control.

The Solution

To support the rollout of its EV charging network, ORLEN deployed the FLEXBOX, FLEXECHARGE’s plug-and-play infrastructureand connectivity hardware, across charging sites to simplify deployment andstandardise site architecture.

The FLEXBOX enables ORLEN to streamline charging infrastructure rolloutswhile maintaining a scalable and repeatable deployment model by providing:

·        Plug-and-play commissioning, reducing deployment complexity andengineering effort

·        Centralised charger communication and remote connectivity

·        Local, reliable site operation and infrastructure management

·        One unified technical layer connecting chargers and local systems

By simplifying infrastructure complexity into one standardised solution,the FLEXBOX allows ORLEN to deploy the same technicalsetup across sites while accelerating commissioning and reducing rolloutcomplexity.

Next Steps

Following therollout of the FLEXBOX across ORLEN charging sites, the company is positionedto replicate the same standardised deployment approach across additionallocations and markets. With the FLEXBOX as a common technical foundation,future charging sites can be deployed faster, with reduced operationalcomplexity and more predictable implementation processes.

This positions ORLEN toscale its EV charging network efficiently while remaining prepared for futureenergy management services and growing charging demand.
