HARMON-E Powers Truck Charging for Otte Lisse, Delivered by Floading
How reseller partner Floading combined battery storage with FLEXECHARGE's HARMON-E energy management platform to deliver 250 kW truck charging on a 3×80A grid connection, with no grid reinforcement needed.
HARMON-E Powers Truck Charging for Otte Lisse, Delivered by Floading

The Challenge
Electric trucks typically need 150–350 kW of charging power to turn around within a working day. Transport company Otte Lisse's existing grid connection was a standard 3×80A supply, far short of what full-power truck charging requires, and reinforcing that connection was not realistic in the near term.
The question for Otte Lisse's reseller partner, Floading, was not whether the fleet could electrify, but how to do it within the capacity already available on site, without waiting years for the grid operator.
The Solution
Floading designed a charging plaza pairing Otte Lisse's limited grid connection with 510 kWh of on-site battery storage from Sungrow and DC fast chargers from Autel. Underneath the setup, FLEXECHARGE's HARMON-E energy management platform is the layer that makes the combination work in practice:
- Charges the battery during quiet hours, whenever demand on site is low
- Discharges the battery at charging peaks, topping up what the grid connection alone can deliver
- Monitors available grid capacity, battery state of charge, and each vehicle's charging need in real time
- Allocates available power dynamically across connected trucks, keeping the grid connection within its permitted limits at all times
The result: a charging plaza that delivers up to 250 kW during the day, running on a grid connection rated at just 3×80A, with headroom built in as Otte Lisse's electric fleet grows. FLEXECHARGE was not directly engaged by Otte Lisse on this project; the case was designed, deployed and is operated by Floading, with HARMON-E as the technology brick underneath, running alongside charging hardware from Autel and battery storage from Sungrow.
The full charging plaza was up and running in around five months, compared to the roughly two-year timeline a grid connection upgrade alone would have required.
Next Steps
With HARMON-E as the common technical foundation, Floading is positioned to replicate the same battery-backed charging approach for other depots facing grid capacity limits, without waiting on grid reinforcement timelines.
On the strength of this setup, Otte Lisse plans to expand its electric truck fleet in the coming years, with the existing charging plaza built to support that growth.
The project also reinforces the case for other transport companies: a constrained grid connection doesn't have to delay the move to electric trucks, wherever battery storage and the right energy management platform are combined.

“In a market as grid-constrained as the Netherlands, batteries and chargers alone aren't enough. You need an energy management system that can actually put that hardware to work within the grid's limits. That's what HARMON-E did for Otte Lisse, and it's the piece that makes projects like this possible at all.”
